Electrical Safety in eMobility

The use of electric and hybrid vehicles is known as electric mobility (or e-mobility). The term electric mobility covers the technical, vehicle-related aspects for vehicles such as electric cars, electric motor scooters, electric motorbikes, battery buses, hybrid buses, hybrid vehicles, electric trucks and electric bikes. It also includes the electrification of public transport. The term electric mobility is also commonly applied to programmes that promote the use of electric vehicles.

The new technologies require safety strategies to guarantee the safe use of electricity. This goes from setting up the charging station over the charging process to operating the vehicle. Many EVSE manufacturers already rely on the proven safety of Bender technology, such as:

• Vehicle sensors (insulation monitoring)
• Charging technology/charge controllers
• Infrastructure sensors (AC and DC charging)
